First Story Complete

Just finished writing my first story for the school paper. I wrote about the Tiananmen Square Protests which led to the Tiananmen Square Massacres. I interviewed some people but no one had more input than my grandmother. Man she can talk a storm and it was awesome to see her so passionately talk about the event and how she felt about everything.

Also had lunch today with good friends and meet up with my friend Matt who has been living in New York the past couple of years. It was really nice to see him and catching up with him. We go way back.

Now I have another deadline for a story about the hurricane recovery effort due by Friday. Hopefully I can finish this story on time! HOLLA!

Summer Plans

Hey everybody! Summer is here and its about that time where people my age either look for a job or take summer school. For me, I have to do both this summer and luckily for me I found a job for the summer and maybe the school year. Now my major is journalism and a friend told me that i should start my very own blog to try and develop my writing skills. I got a job at the school paper where I'll be doing human interest stories for the summer and by the fall I'll be writing for the sports section of the paper, which is what I really want to do for a career. I have my first story deadline this week and I am excited about the opportunity to learn first-hand how a paper is put together.
